Bio

Dr. Ved Aggarwal is driven in his work at the Texas Pain Institute by his ability to make a difference in each patient’s quality of life and help them go back to work to become productive members of society again. With a love of working with his hands, Dr. Aggarwal was first drawn to the anesthesiology and pain management field because of the intricate and tedious procedures he performs in the operating room. He received his Doctor of Medicine at the University College of Medical Sciences in India. He finished an internal medicine internship at Mount Sinai/Queens Hospital Center and an anesthesiology residency at Albert Einstein/ Montefiore Medical Center, both in New York. He completed a pain medicine fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore. Dr. Aggarwal knows healthcare has to be patient-centered. “Without active patient involvement or buy-in, the best treatment plans will be worthless.” When discussing medication management, he issues the minimum amounts of narcotics available to keep patients functional. There are a number of treatments and technologies that are promising for the future of the pain management field. Dr. Aggarwal is excited by the advancements in spinal cord stimulation, implantable technology, and long-acting local anesthetics. In Dr. Aggarwal’s downtime, he enjoys reading and gardening.

“Dr. Aggarwal is a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician with a Fellowship in Interventional Pain Management from the University of Maryland. He graduated from medical school at the top of his class when he was just 21 years old. Dr. Aggarwal completed two years of general surgery and moved to New York in 1992 to further his training. After completing his internship from Mt. Sinai, he enrolled in an anesthesia residency program at Albert Einstein Montefiore Medical Center. From 1998 to 2001, he was a faculty member at UT Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Aggarwal started Texas Pain Institute in 2001. It is the largest interventional pain group in Tarrant County with six interventional pain doctors and seven advanced practitioners spanning six locations across the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Dr. Aggarwal uses the latest guidelines and technologies available to improve patient care. Dr. Aggarwal built an office-based C-arm fluoroscopy procedure room in 2003 and built a Medicare-certified surgery center for interventional pain procedures. To improve patient’s access to care and reduce costs, he built a state-of-the-art high complexity urine toxicology lab as part of Texas Pain Institute in 2014. The Texas Pain Institute laboratory was re-certified by COLA in 2019 with zero deficiencies.

Dr. Aggarwal lives in Southlake, Texas with his wife and four children. He has a German Shepard, loves to travel and spend time with his family.”
